About

Dr. Marga Can you have a Vascularized Lymph Node Transfer (VLNTx) if you do not need breast reconstruction?

Vascularized Lymph Node Transfer (VLNTx) can be preformed as an isolated reconstructive procedure to the arm or leg OR combined with a DIEP flap breast reconstruction. When combined with a DIEP flap, only one arterial and venous reconstruction is required in 80% of patients with 20% requiring both a.) a deep inferior epigastric artery and vein to internal mammary artery and vein anastamoses, and b.) a superficial circumflex artery and vein to thoracodorsal artery and vein (or their associated perforators) anastamoses.
